The WFIA Educational Foundation works to help our members meet the demands of the future. We are dedicated to the advancement of education and employment opportunities in the food industry by providing scholarships to a number of Food Industry Related Programs.
This retail specific certificate is typically earned in 2 years and can be taken at several locations throughout Washington and/or online. WFIA and the Western Association of Food Chains (WAFC) both offer scholarship programs to help students cover the costs of tuition and many of our member retailers will chip in for employees to attend this highly recommended program as well.
This program is designed for passionate supermarket people and will dive into practical solutions for both the common, and more challenging, problems operators experience in their stores each day. This program features a practical, solution-oriented approach to management issues. The emphasis is on interaction using case studies, role-playing, team discussions, and lectures. WFIA Educational Scholarship $500.
This 14 week course at the University of Southern California grants students 16 academic college credits and covers an array of food industry management subjects. Tuition to this program is covered by the Western Association of Food Chains for qualified applicants and WFIA scholarships are available to help with housing costs and supplemental materials.
Tuition is covered by the WAFC.
WFIA Educational Scholarship for $1,500 to the employee or employer following the completion of the program.
This 4 day intensive course at the University of Southern California is designed for those with managerial experience in the food industry with the intention of moving on to executive leadership positions. The Western Association of Food Chains (WAFC) and WFIA have scholarships available for this targeted enrichment program.
Using recent industry case studies and interactive group discussions, this program includes topics varying from leadership development, team building, and management, marketing strategy, ethics, power and influence, as well as economic theory.
Program Fees $4,595
WFIA Educational Scholarship $1,000.
The Master of Science, Food Industry Leadership Program is a fully accredited graduate degree offered by the USCMarshall for food industry executives who are interested in upping their game and improving their leadership abilities.
The MS.FIL program is a 16-month, 30-unit hybrid degree program designed by academic and industry experts for industry professionals who are eager to gain actionable leadership skills and insights into the workings of the food industry from manufacturing to wholesale operations to retail stores and e-Commerce.
WFIA Educational Scholarship for up to $2000.
The WFIA Educational Foundation and it's Board encourages ongoing education in order for your employees to further their careers. The industry related scholarship can assist with exam and certification fees or other job training. This scholarship is capped at $250 per exam fee or other training.
