WFIA Excellence in Safety Awards

Engage membership, benchmark performance, recognize companies and sustain retro performance

Does your team work hard to keep their employees safe?

If so, we have a perfect way to for your store or business to be recognized for their hard work and commitment to safety! This award is a proactive way to engage membership, benchmark performance, recognize companies and sustain retro performance focusing on prevention for our Retro participants.

Eligibility

Any company that is actively enrolled in the 2024-2025 Washington Food Industry Association Retrospective Rating Program and who has not been part of the WFIA Waiver Program the last 2-years may apply for the EISA award.

Annual paid premium is based on the company’s entire annual workers’ compensation paid premium in Washington State. If an employer has multiple locations, the company should perform an internal review of all establishments and submit one application for the best performing location.

Timeline

January 1 - March 15, 2025:

Companies may submit their WFIA EISA application.

March 15 - April 15, 2025:

WFIA and ERNwest will review applications, contact and schedule onsite reviews with the establishments whose self-assessment scores > 90+ on the self-assessment form.

April 16 - May 13, 2025:

  • WFIA and ERNwest will recognize the top 3 winners: 1- small group; 1-medium group; and 1-large group winner.

May 15, 2025:

  • Each winner will be WFIA's guest at the WFIA Industry Awards dinner at the Tacoma Convention Center.

One winner from each group will receive an award!

A gold seal of excellence in safety can be posted on their website and other printed materials, prize money, and their Retro refund check one month early to be delivered June 1, 2025.

Prize Money

  • One Small Group with annual paid premium up to $50,000 would receive a bonus check of $2,500.
  • One Medium Group with annual paid premiums between $50,001 and $100,000 would receive a bonus check of $5,000.
  • One Large Group with annual paid premiums of $100,001 or higher would receive a bonus check of $7,500.
